Job Description Wingra School seeks a Resource Teacher who is knowledgeable about child development in the social, emotional and intellectual realms and has experience working with student differences and creating integrated support strategies. Strong skills in verbal, written, and interpersonal communication and ability to collaborate with colleagues essential. Must be resourceful, enthusiastic, well-organized and able to navigate a complex terrain with flexibility and grace. ? ? Qualifications Key Areas of Responsibility Student Assessment and Support Provide resources and support when classroom teachers have questions or concerns about a student. Gather information through conversation with those familiar with the student, review of student work, observation and informal assessment. Coordinate and document communication between home and school to promote a shared understanding of student challenges, goals and support strategies. Participate in parent/teacher conferences as needed. Coordinate assessment and support services with MMSD for students who have an IEP. Classroom Support Provide teachers with information about specific learning differences and disabilities; review outside assessment information; help develop strategies for classroom and curriculum support. Provide individual and small group student instruction and/or support at school as coordinated with classroom teachers. Parent Support Collect and review parenting resources and materials and make them available to families. Provide referral information to parents for assessment and support outside of school. Qualifications: Background in special education and learning differences; relevant degree, credential and experience. ? ? Requirements Hours: Mondays 8:00 ? 4:00; Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays, 8:00- 12:00. ? ?
