Anyhow, this sounds kind of interesting, although I'd probably have to speed up my playing of Touhou games if I wanted to actually join it, since some of the characters (MoF onward) are entirely foreign to me, personality-wise, having never seen them in canon thus far. However, given the solely basic level of characterization given to each of the individual denizens of Gensokyo, I think this idea could actually work brilliantly, since it would be a fandom rp that, for once, didn't either pigeonhole people into a set-in-stone personality or force them to create mary sue-ish OCs. Really, it just depends on the genre you have in mind. I'd be all for a witty, humorous and light-hearted adventure like in the actual games, but I don't do genres like yuri - which is all too prominent in a fandom with so many female characters - or genres which would otherwise greatly break off from the original series in mood, such as a horror story or something angsty and dark.
If it helps, my favorite characters in the series, and the ones I'd be most willing to play, would be Marisa (although everyone else would probably want to play as her too), Patchouli (although it might be slightly difficult at first to get her out of the SDM), Flandre (although she would be difficult to write, and would be another highly wanted role), Reisen, Mokou, Utsuho (I'd have to actually get to Subterranean Animism and the other games she appears in first), or Cirno. (NINE-BALL FTW!)
Anyhow, this sounds interesting, and I'll certainly keep an eye on this thread! =D
