Wrapports, LLC, the parent company of Sun-Times Media, the Chicago Reader and other media and technology properties, today launched Season Pass, the first interactive high school sports experience that allows users to watch games live on tablet, mobile or laptop, including replays, highlights and play by play, integrated with rankings, interviews and commentary
?The Sun-Times is bringing major league-style coverage to high school sports in a way that has never been done before,? said Michael W. Ferro Jr., Chairman of Wrapports, LLC. ?Our investment in High School Cube is what has enabled us to combine the best live game content with the city?s best local sports coverage to introduce an entirely new product to our city and suburban sports fans.?
Users will have access to live streaming video, replays, play by play, stats and scores on game nights, with rankings of teams and individuals, player profiles, match-up previews and postgame analyses all week long. Fans and schools can sign up at http://seasonpass.suntimes.com/page/show/612452-southtown-star.
?The local youth sports audience is a major opportunity for the Sun-Times and the Chicago Region-Wide Network (CRWN),? said Timothy P. Knight, CEO of Wrapports, LLC. ?With hundreds of games per sport each season, there are thousands of students, parents, coaches, boosters and even college scouts who will become daily users of the platform.?
?Season Pass offers an unprecedented experience at the prep level; providing a level of coverage that have simply not existed in the past,? said Jim Kirk, Editor in Chief of Sun-Times Media. ?This completely changes the reporting model for high school sports.?
The first live games air at 7:30 p.m. Friday at http://seasonpass.suntimes.com/page/show/612452-southtown-star.
