California Gov. Jerry Brown discusses pension reform during a news conference on August 28, 2012 in Los Angeles.

California Gov. Jerry Brown told reporters at a news conference Tuesday morning that he has completed his treatment for prostate cancer.

When asked by a reporter for an update on Brown?s treatment, Brown said, ?It?s finished.? The reporter asked if he was better, and Brown jokingly responded, ?You choose.?

Another reporter called out, ?Do some pushups for us!? Brown said, ?I?m ready, I?m raring to go, and don?t expect me to leave too soon.?

The rest of the news conference was about California?s prison system.

Brown?s office announced last month that Brown was undergoing treatment. It was treated with ?a short course of conventional radiotherapy,? Brown?s oncologist Dr. Eric Small said, with an ?excellent? prognosis. There weren?t expected to be any significant side effects, Small said.
